Dr. Joseph A. Ciampoli
Dr. Ciampoli is a podiatric surgeon and diabetic foot specialist who has been practicing for more than 24 years. He received his degree from Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences in Miami, Florida and completed his surgical residency under the direction of Dr. Allen Jacobs in St. Louis, Missouri, one of the country’s leading experts in diabetic foot care.
Dr. Ciampoli is extensively trained in reconstructive foot surgery and diabetic limb salvage, and he is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
A graduate of Archmere Academy, Dr. Ciampoli lives in Wilmington with his wife, 3 boys, and his Great Dane rescue. Dr. Ciampoli is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys running, hiking, and backpacking.

Dr. Anmol Burmi, DPM
Dr. Burmi is a Delaware native and proud to be serving the community she grew up in. She graduated from Wilmington Charter High School and went on to earn her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware. She then completed her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University before returning home for a three-year residency in foot and ankle surgery at Christiana Care.
Since joining First State Foot and Ankle in 2024, Dr. Burmi has enjoyed caring for patients of all ages with a wide range of foot and ankle concerns. She is passionate about helping her patients stay active and pain-free.
